For product launches

How to create a app launches waitlist

A Typeform that emails you rows. A Google Sheet nobody trusts. A Mailchimp form that tags people but tells them nothing. Meanwhile the people signing up see no number and no sign that a line exists. When launch day comes you spend an afternoon deduplicating addresses before you can send the first invite.

Your launch page is a form that goes nowhere. 6 steps, about five minutes, or one click with the recipe below.

Step by step

Set up the Early access yourself

These are the exact values the recipe applies. Change any of them to match your line.

  1. Create the waitlist

Sign in, click New waitlist, and name it "Early access". It starts as a draft, so nothing is public until you publish.

  2. Leave capacity unlimited

In Settings, leave the capacity empty. Everyone who joins gets a number in order and the list never reads as full.

  3. Leave the hours open

Under Hours, leave the schedule off so people can join at any time. You can pause the list by hand whenever you need to.

  4. Add the form fields

Email is built in. On the Form tab, add Company, Team size. Labels and help text render as plain text.

  5. Show the counter

In Settings, turn on the counter so the form shows how many spots are left. People join faster when they can see the number.

  6. Publish and share

Click Publish. The Share tab has the hosted link, a QR code, and the script tag or iframe for your site. The submit button reads "Get early access".

Or do it in one click

Use the recipe

The "Early access" recipe creates the waitlist with every step above already done. Sign in, click once, and it is live as a draft you can publish.

  • The running count is shown on the form.
  • One entry per email address. A second submit returns the existing position.

After you publish

How the list runs

Embed in a minute

A script tag on Webflow, Framer, Next.js, or plain HTML. Or an iframe. Or a POST from your own form.

Ask what you need

Email is built in. Add company, role, a dropdown, a checkbox for terms. Show/hide rules reveal fields only when they matter.

Show the number

"You're #482." A visible position turns a form into a line people tell friends about.

Dedupe by email

One entry per address. A second submit returns the existing position instead of a new row.

Get told immediately

An owner email per signup, and on Pro a signed webhook to Slack, your CRM, or a script.

Take the list with you

CSV export with every custom field, or pull entries over the API when you launch.

FAQ

Questions people here ask

Can I use my own form instead of the widget?

Yes. POST the fields to the entries endpoint from any stack. Send a captcha token from the browser, or use an API key from your server.

Does it email the people who sign up?

Yes. Joiners get a confirmation with their number and a link to check their place or leave the list. You get an owner email per signup. Invites still go out from your own email tool using the CSV export.

What happens at 100 signups in a month on the free plan?

The form reads as full until the 1st. Upgrade to Pro and it reopens right away with every entry intact.

Can I show the count on my page?

Yes. The embed can display the running count, and the API returns it with every response.
