Terms of service

The agreement between you and Unwaited: what the service is, what you may do with it, billing, and the limits of what we promise.

Last updated

These terms are the agreement between you and Unwaited when you create an account or use the service. They are short on purpose. If something here is unclear, email [email protected] before you rely on it.

What Unwaited is

A service for taking signups when there are limited spots: a form people join, a number they get, a cap that stops the form, and a place for you to see the list. You can share it as a hosted page, a QR code, an embed, or through the API.

Unwaited does not take payments from joiners, does not sync to calendars, and does not send text messages. The site says what it does; nothing beyond that is promised.

Your account

You must be at least 18 to create an account. You are responsible for what happens under it, including anything done with your API keys. Keep those keys private; if one leaks, revoke it from the dashboard.

Acceptable use

Use the service for real lines with real spots. Do not:

  • collect data you have no right to collect, or use it for anything the joiners would not expect;
  • send unsolicited email, run scams, or impersonate someone else's business;
  • collect payment card numbers, government id numbers, health details, or passwords through a form;
  • run lines aimed at children under 13 without a parent's involvement;
  • attack the service, probe it for weaknesses without asking first, or use it to attack anyone else;
  • resell the service as your own, or scrape it beyond what the public API is for.

If a waitlist is used this way, we may pause it or close the account. Where we can, we will tell you first.

Your data and the joiners' data

You own the waitlists you create and the entries people submit. We process the entries on your behalf, as the privacy policy describes, and you are responsible for telling joiners what you will do with what they give you and for honouring their requests about it.

We keep every entry until you delete it or your retention setting purges it. We do not delete entries because of a plan change.

Billing

The free plan is free and stays free. Paid plans are billed by Stripe monthly or yearly, in advance, at the prices on the pricing page. Prices can change; existing subscriptions keep their price until the next renewal after we email you, at least 30 days ahead.

Signup caps are counted per account per calendar month, in UTC. When you pass the cap, your forms read as full until the first of the next month or until you upgrade. Nothing is deleted.

You can cancel any time from the billing portal. The plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds. If you were charged and something on our side stopped you using what you paid for, tell us within 14 days and we will refund it. We do not otherwise refund partial periods, but we are reasonable people; ask.

Availability

We run a small service carefully, and we will tell you about planned downtime when we can. There is no service-level agreement and no uptime credit. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Unwaited is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data arising from the service, however caused. Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as they can.

You agree to cover us against claims by third parties that arise from your use of the service or your breach of these terms.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account; we do that within a few days, and it deletes your waitlists and their entries. We can close accounts that break these terms, and we can stop offering the service with 60 days' notice, during which you can export everything.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email account owners at least 14 days before it takes effect. Using the service after that date means you accept the change.
