For tattoo studios and artists

Twenty-four pieces in a day. Six in each block.

A total cap of 24 split into four time blocks of six. Clients book a slot, pick the flash number they want, and the 1:00 block greys out when the sixth client takes it. Nobody waits four hours on the sidewalk.

The problem

The flash day line starts at 8:00 AM on the sidewalk

You post the sheet on Instagram, say first come first served, and people camp outside from breakfast. By noon the ones at the back have waited four hours to hear you are booked through close. A Google Form takes 80 names for 24 pieces and someone has to DM 56 people the bad news.

The recipe

Exactly what the button sets up

Capacity, reset time, opening hours, and the form fields. It is a starting point, not a cage. Every value is editable in Settings and the builder.

Recipe

Flash day, Nov 7

  • 24 pieces in total for the day. The form reads as full at 24.
  • Four two-hour blocks with six spots each. A full block is greyed out on the form and rejected by the API.
  • No opening hours. Open the list when you post the flash sheet and pause it the night before.
  • Asks for name, phone, flash number, and time block.
  • Clients see their number on the success screen.

How it works here

How the list works

Cap each block

Four blocks of six. When the 1:00 PM fills it greys out and the API refuses a seventh.

Cap the day

Twenty-four pieces as a backstop. Set it to what your hands can do.

Flash number

A short text field. You know which pieces are popular before you set up the station.

Numbered clients

"You're #9, 1:00 to 3:00." They show up for their block, not at dawn.

Within the block, in order

Export the CSV in position order. The first to book in a block goes first.

Next flash day

Rename the list and the blocks, clear the entries, share the same link.

Why it holds up

What matters most

No seventh in the block

Block caps are checked inside the same database lock as the position number. Two people cannot both claim the last spot.

No sidewalk

Clients book from the Instagram post and come for their block. The line is on the form, not outside.

The bad news sends itself

The full message replaces 56 DMs. It goes out before the entry exists.

The form looks like the shop

Black, red, mono type. Your tokens, set once.

FAQ

Questions people here ask

Can I take a deposit when they book?

No. Unwaited does not take payments. Send the deposit link with the confirmation or take it at the station.

Can I cap a specific flash piece?

Yes. Turn the flash number field into a slot field with a capacity per design, so a one-off piece can only be claimed once.

What if someone doesn't show?

Delete the entry, or send "your turn" to the next person from the Entries tab. Positions are never reused.

Can I keep a standby list for no-shows?

Raise the day cap slightly above what you can do and tell the last few they are standby. Or make a second waitlist called Standby and link it from the full message.
