Quick answer: response limits are available in both form builders. The more useful question is what happens after submission: does a person need a place in line, reserved products, or a dated booking? Compare Queues, Preorders, and Bookings with the form and integrations you already use.
Tally and Typeform have different controls
Tally documents a closing date, a submission limit, and duplicate prevention using a selected field as a unique identifier. Its direct integrations include Sheets and Notion. These may cover a straightforward intake process without another product. Tally form settings, Tally integrations.
Typeform documents a per-form response cap on Business. It says the cap is enforced when responses are submitted, with later submissions rejected after the limit is reached. Its separate monthly account allowance is shared across forms. Do not confuse that allowance with the cap you set for one activity. Typeform closing settings, Typeform response allowances.
| Feature | Unwaited | Tally and Typeform |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing and included volume | Free: 100 signups/account/month; Starter: $30/month for 3,000; Pro: $50/month for 10,000 | Tally: free submissions subject to fair use. Typeform: monthly account response limits by plan. Check current pricing. |
| Close at a response limit | Standard pages support total or period signup caps | Tally has a submission limit. Typeform documents a per-form limit on Business. |
| Simultaneous responses | Capacity checked within the admission transaction | Typeform documents rejection after its per-form limit is reached; this page makes no concurrency guarantee for Tally |
| Duplicate prevention | Standard signup deduplication by normalized email | Tally can use a selected field as a unique identifier; review the settings for your form |
| Live operations | Queue call/serve actions, preorder stock, and dated single or recurring bookings | Evaluate whether your form and connected tools cover the required lifecycle |
| File uploads | Starter and Pro; no payment collection or signature field | Tally offers uploads on all plans with applicable size and fair-use limits; check Typeform's current plan features |
| Integrations | CSV and public API; signed webhooks for Standard signups and preorders on Starter and Pro | Tally documents direct Sheets and Notion integrations; check each provider's current catalog |
| Remove Unwaited branding | Pro, $50/month | Check the provider's current branding entitlement |
Tally offers free submissions subject to fair use and file uploads with plan-dependent limits. Verify the current plan and features rather than relying on an old price in a comparison. Tally pricing, Tally file uploads, Typeform pricing.
Choose the unit and the follow-up
A form response is not automatically a product reservation. Unwaited Preorders subtract ordered quantities from batch stock, shared across pickup options. Bookings reserve places in dated sessions or recurring enrollment. A live queue counts active parties and provides call, serve, and no-show actions with automatically updating guest status pages.
Standard signups remain useful for collecting interest, with numbered entries, email deduplication, and optional total or period caps. They do not reserve the quantities written in answers. Unwaited has no online payment collection, external calendar sync, or automatic overflow waiting list.
Include the operating limits in the choice
Unwaited Free includes five total form blocks, including email and content. Starter and Pro allow 60 custom questions. New confirmation emails and uploads require a paid plan; Free still returns a private status link on screen.
Monthly signup allowances are shared across the account. Uncovered Standard entries are held from the owner; new uncovered queue, preorder, and booking admissions pause after the account's one-time grace period. Record retention and deletion follow your settings, with no plan-based history expiry. Usage and grace periods.
