For supper clubs
How to create a supper clubs waitlist
You announce the next dinner, and within an hour there are 60 messages for 24 seats. You reply to each one, keep a list in Notes, and forget who asked about a nut allergy. Two people get told yes for the same seat. The night before, you are still messaging people to confirm.
The Instagram post goes up and your DMs become the guest list. 6 steps, about five minutes, or one click with the recipe below.
Step by step
Set up the October dinner yourself
These are the exact values the recipe applies. Change any of them to match your line.
Create the waitlist
Sign in, click New waitlist, and name it "October dinner". It starts as a draft, so nothing is public until you publish.
Set capacity to 24 in total
In Settings, set the capacity to 24 in total. When the 24th person joins, the form reads as full and says so.
Set the opening hours
Under Hours, set signups to open Mon, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Outside those hours the form shows a closed screen with the next opening time, in the joiner's time zone.
Add the form fields
Email is built in. On the Form tab, add Name (required), Seats (required), Dietary notes. Labels and help text render as plain text.
Show the counter
In Settings, turn on the counter so the form shows how many spots are left. People join faster when they can see the number.
Publish and share
Click Publish. The Share tab has the hosted link, a QR code, and the script tag or iframe for your site. The submit button reads "Request a seat".
Or do it in one click
Use the recipe
The "October dinner" recipe creates the waitlist with every step above already done. Sign in, click once, and it is live as a draft you can publish.

How the list runs
Cap the table
Set 24. The 25th person sees a full message, not a form that pretends.
Open on one day
Opening hours for Monday only. The rest of the week the form shows the next opening.
Count seats, not people
A number field for seats lets a couple take two. The export shows the total per entry.
Collect dietary notes
A long text field per guest, in the same CSV as their name and seat count.
Share one link
The hosted page works from a Linktree or an Instagram bio. No website needed.
Reset for the next dinner
Export the list, clear the entries, and the same form opens next Monday.
FAQ
Questions people here ask
Can guests pay for their seat in the form?
No. Unwaited does not take payments. Export the list and send payment links in seat order from your own tool.
Two seats count as two, right?
The capacity counts entries, not seats. If you allow couples, set the cap to the number of entries you can host, or ask for one entry per person.
Can I run two dinners a month from one list?
Add a dropdown for the date and export by that field. For a separate cap per dinner, create a second waitlist.
